Bench Saw
- Clean surrounds.
- No obstructions to safe use.
- Safety guards in place.
- Ear Muffs used.

Electric Tools
- Checked and suitable for use.
- Free of damage.
- Suitably stored
- Moisture checked.
- Switch off and unplug when not in use.
- Protective equipment to be used.
Mitre Saw
- Muffs on.
- Dust extractor working.
- Timber well held and supported.
- Don't cross your hands.
- Wait for saw to stop before clearing.
Metalwork
Metal lathes
- Cutting tools suitable and in good condition.
- Chuck and tailstock in good condition.
- Speed and feed checked.
- Job suitably secured.
Drill Press - (Metal Work)
- When changing or removing bits from the chuck ALWAYS check that the chuck key has been removed before switching on.
- Make sure items being drilled are securely held in a drill vice.
- ALWAYS wear protective eyewear.
Welding
- Use protective clothing and eyewear at all times.
- Use an isolating curtain to protect others.
- Be aware of where your sparks are going.
- Be aware of other Sheddies around you.
General
Grinding, Cutting and Wire Brushing
- Use protective eyewear and ear protection at all times.
- Be aware of where your sparks are going.

Painting
- Wash brushes after use.
- Put down drop cloths or protective coverings.
- Be mindful of where the paint is going.
Compressor
- Check the oil level in the crank case.
- Make sure the pressure level is set at the regulator to suit your job.
- Drain Pressure tank after use.
